Since traveling can add up quickly, you first need to look at your monthly budget. Do you have enough money to buy the equipment you need and finance your trips? If you're determined to make this a full-time career, you could apply for a personal loan to get things off the ground. You can use the money to buy video equipment, build a website, and even supplement your income if you're not working as a digital nomad.
Choose a Travel Niche
Since travel blogging is such huge niche, you need to zero in on one sector. If you want to focus on the cheapest ways to travel internationally, you could choose destinations that are perfect for the budget traveler. If your target audience are families with small children, you can use that to create content that teaches them how to prepare for a road trip and travel stress-free with kids. Regardless of niche, you need to choose one and stick with it. That's not to say that as you grow you can't focus on other things, however, you'll never grow a substantial following if people don't know what to expect from you.
Create a Budget
Even with points and last-minute deals, you still need a budget. Choose a set amount that you are comfortable with spending and don't go over it. Make sure you account for any possible problems, like having to pay extra for a connecting flight or additional nights at hotel. The last thing you want is to go over budget before you start to get sponsorships.
Make Quality Content
Your content is what people want to see, so if it's not valuable, they won't tune in. Take the time to learn how to create video transitions, photo editing, and even voice overs. Since most social media platforms offer guides on how to use them, this should be pretty easy to accomplish. You can even set up a mock account where you create content and learn how to use each platform. By far, TikTok and Instagram are the two channels you should know inside and out.
Build a Community
As you create content and share it with the world, be sure that you're actively engaging with your followers across multiple platforms. Since you want people to look to you for guidance, you want to available to answer questions or simply thank them for leaving a like or comment on your feed. Since consumers want to engage with their favorite content creators, it's important that you don't overlook this step. You can also post questions and ask your follower for feedback to start online conversations.
