HOW TO ANTI-AGE YOUR LIPS

How To Anti-Age Your Lips

One of the easiest and earliest signs of aging to spot will occur around the lips. Your lips lose volume, and fine (and then deeper) lines and wrinkles will appear. Yet when we talk about anti-aging, the lips aren’t usually mentioned. Eyes are important, and the skin in general, and even how to cover up grey hairs, but lips don’t feature, even though they can give away your age faster than almost anything else.

Luckily, there are plenty of anti-aging solutions for the lips that anyone can start to implement right away. Once this is in hand, you’ll be amazed at the difference it will make and the youthful appearance it will give your face. Read on to find out more.

 Anti-Aging Lip Balms

Using lip balm is something we should all be doing as a matter of course since it adds hydration to the lips and makes them feel and look plump and healthy. However, if you purchase a lip balm with additional anti-aging ingredients, not only will your lips feel healthy, they’ll look more youthful too.

Look out for a lip balm that includes retinol as an active ingredient. This is the ingredient that will increase collagen production, which is the substance that gives your skin more elasticity. The more of this you have, the fewer lines you’ll have. Plus, since you’re using lip balm anyway, this will not add any more time to your daily beauty routine

Lip Fillers

As we said, it’s not just the area around the mouth that can age you; it’s the lips themselves. This is where trying lip fillers can be ideal. A lip filler will do just as its name suggests; it will fill your lips, making them plumper and defining the area around the edge much more so that lipstick doesn’t bleed onto the skin. You’ll have more definition and poutier lips. You can choose how big you want to go, so you won’t have to worry that you’ll look hugely different to usual; you can have just a little filler, and it will work perfectly.

The filler is made from hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the body. This is great news since your lips won’t be injected with any chemicals, and there is no need to be concerned about side effects. The lip fillers will dissolve away over time, so you’ll need to have them redone every few months if you want to keep up this look.

Lasers And Peels

A chemical peel or a laser treatment can do wonders for the fine lines around your lips. The laser or peel improves the texture and tone of your skin and minimises the fine lines. The only issue with these treatments is that they take longer than the others mentioned on this list, and they do need a little recovery time. It’s not long, though, and you will see the results quickly once the initial redness has subsided.

These treatments won’t be for everyone, so always make sure you discuss your requirements with a professional before signing up for something that might not suit you or you may not like.
