The Best View From Heaven Is From Hell

One of Liverpools swankiest new watering hole and eatery is brilliant in the way that there should be an image of Neighbourhood under the word in the dictionary. The building it's situated in is a great pride of beauty being quintessentially Liverpudlian in it's Grade II listed format and previously occupied by the Alliance Bank, then North and South Wales Bank, then later Midlands Bank. So like a city vault, it's very desirable. Neighbourhood offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails and desserts. So it's the ideal place to spend all day in, sometimes you have to remind yourself you're not in a cool artsy restaurant in Paris, it holds all the wonders of a French Parlour Restaurant. 

So let's talk about the food and cocktails. I waited at the bar for my partners arrival, getting in a pornstar martinis because all date nights should start out with something extra sweet. We were walked to our table where we had the best available view of the bar, the beautiful surrounding sights raised high up to see everything. It was delightful. I ordered in the Lobster taco with guacamole, a mini aperitif before ordering in a much more substantial main. They're delicious, with the perfect amount of food being served, ideal to share out if you're a mix and matcher. Whilst Patrick went for the crispy duck with watermelon & beansprouts. An exceptional portion, with such fragrance and diversity in a dish. 

The mains menu is incredibly sophisticated from serving beef wellington with madeira sauce, the luxurious Miso black cod - which I had and adored every bite. With ordered a few sides to pick and choose from, I highly recommend the buttered spinach with garlic, as well as the broccoli with hollandaise sauce. Naturally we fancied something naughty, so we got in some french fries which were cooked to perfection is being, crunchy yet fluffy. Perfect.
