For 5 days I called this place my home throughout London Fashion Week, let me share my experiences from the breakfast to the famous Premier Inn beds!
The first thing that caught my eye about this hotel is that it’s right in the middle of everything, the location is central London, within walking distance of Covent Garden, Strand (Somerset House for me!) and Oxford Street. I wanted something that didn’t require much public transport and when the typical British weather did pour down a short Uber taxi ride always got us home pronto! Although if you need to get around it’s a 5 minute walk from Holborn Train Station and there’s buses around the surrounding roads. Considering you’re paying normal hotel rates for prime capital location, the service, quality and location seems almost too good to be true!
On arrival we checked in after a previous phone call asking if we could check in our bags early to head to the J. JS Lee show first thing, a lovely woman called Leena attended to our luggage, and later that day when we got our cards and managed to get up to our room 504 we were greeted with a clean, warm, comfy room and proceeded to ruin the perfectly made bed by jumping all over it.
In our room we got a Kingsize bed, refreshments; tea, coffee, plates kettle etc, desk with drawers, coat cupboard and tons of storage space. Our bathroom had a jet shower, lots of room for all my makeup and products, as well as the toilet and sink (of course!) I loved how open and airy the room was, although our room looked out onto the backs of other houses, and some of central London the amount of light that shined through was incredible!
It was super refreshing every morning to go downstairs to the ground floor in an oversized fur coat and greeted politely for breakfast, absolutely gobsmacked by not only the unlimited buffet help yourself breakfast option that is cereal, toast, croissants, muffins, chopped fruit, yoghurt, with tea, a selection of coffees (yes selection of coffee) orange and cranberry juices, but you can specifically order omelettes, sausages and full breakfasts. It’s the most important meal and I certainly took advantage of the offer, it was pleasant quiet and well controlled, I could eat in peace, check my emails and write up important blog posts before my next show, simply perfect. Overall a fantastic experience!
Now the beds, the famous beds… Lenny Henry in the adverts really does show a depiction of how you feel getting into one of these. It’s super soft and warm, and by my standards I feel the cold so badly so I stayed snugged all night and slept like a baby, Whether there was anyone staying in the rooms around us or not I didn’t hear a peep, not even from traffic. You can actually buy the mattresses, which made me look into possibly buying one as my mattress doesn’t compare anymore!
Overall me and my boyfriend were super happy with our stay, all our amenities were met and we’ve never had such pleasant service, where the staff go above and beyond their requirements!
